I know you've kept busy, with so little time, if you can't read my letter, I really don't mind. And Santa, you don't need to worry 'bout me, for all that I want is a green Christmas tree. My Pa lost his job since the coal mine shut down, and I so hope that Pa will find work, here in town. Mama's worn out, scrubbing neighborhood floors, perhaps there's some way, Ma could lighten her chores. And my brother needs mittens, his old ones wore out, so he doesn't get cold on his newspaper route. Now for my sister, our sweetest of all, oh I wish, how I wish, for a new baby doll. Oh, and Dear Santa, there's just one more thing, I'd like to say thank you, for the joys that you bring.
